What Does Motivation Have to Do With It

Never in my adult life have I sensed such blatant dishonesty from those who we need to be able to trust in positions of influence, power and authority. Especially now, we are inundated with conflicting information and questionable information from every direction. When you read, listen to, or watch news on TV, how often do you sense that you are not being told the truth or the real reason behind many words or actions?

Motivation defines why we do what we do, and underscores the real reasons that drive words or actions. When motivation doesn’t match up with truth and virtue, it is called deception. When motivation does match up with truth and virtue, it is called honesty. Leaders of the world’s powerful nations insist that they are working for the betterment of their nations and for the whole world, but biblical prophecy tells a very different story:

Paul wrote in Ephesians 6: 10 – 13: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

What does motivation have to do with it? Everything!
