Complacency in the face of Change

Doesn’t it feel like the world is trying to destroy itself more than ever? Russia is pushing hard to take Ukraine, to be followed by taking NATO countries and waging war with the US to get it. China is pushing for absolute control of all world economies and is willing to wage war with the US to get it. North Korea wants global significance and is dedicated to waging war with the US to get it. Iran is desperate for options to obtain a nuclear weapon so that they can blow Israel and eventually the US off the map. All of these nations now have thousands of terrorist groups and sleeper cells operating in the US so that they can destroy our democratic republic and our infrastructure from within… at a moment of their choosing.

Activist groups and even some of our own politicians are pushing socialism and fascism and are trying to confuse our citizens and our children that men should become women and that women should become men, or that we should identify as something else. We are pushed daily to accept lies as truth and truth as lies by those who we really need to trust the most. A third world war is breaking out and spreading; we just don’t know which direction or directions it will come from first. We are threatened with our power grid being taken down, with chemical or biological plagues, food supply contamination or blights, and of course… nuclear annihilation. We are shown natural disasters, volcanos exploding and spewing lava, and big earthquakes shaking homes and cities. Lastly, we are being pushed hard to give up all of our remaining freedoms and free speech to gain protections from those who only really want absolute power and control.

In response, here’s some of the possible options to ponder:

A. Stick our heads in the sand and pretend that none of this is any of our business, and that we should just keep on going the way we have always been going (the status quo). Act surprised and horrified if we are forced to pull our heads out of the sand.

B. Wait for one or more really bad things to happen directly to us before we do or say anything. Over react and run down the street with our “hair on fire”. Blame everyone else but ourselves for what is happening.

C. Give in to all demands being made by leadership or via any new laws, giving up our few remaining liberties in exchange for promises of protection and safety for all.

D. Go with the flow; fit in with the crowd and make any needed adjustments or concessions as the situation demands. Watch, wait, and see what all our neighbors, friends, relatives, and local leaders do or say before considering
making any changes.

E. Seek peace at any cost, including appeasement by compromising any pesky principles or truths.

F. Seek the guidance and will of Jesus by following the clear truths written within the Bible. Lay down all the chaos, lies, and competing voices at the foot of Jesus’ cross through prayer and humility in a quiet place.

G. Comply with man’s laws, but not beyond the point where God’s laws directly contradict them. God’s laws supersede man’s laws.

H. Turn away from all the hate, jealousies, greed, and hunger for power that the world seeks. Turn towards God’s definitions for love and let Jesus put those in your heart to guide any decisions or changes you make.

I. Jesus admonishes us to watch and wait patiently for His leading in our lives, especially in times of duress and chaos. After all, we are only sojourners here, passing through on a dying planet… awaiting a new eternal life on a planet made new that will never see suffering or loss or death ever again.

J. Make use of our time and energy that we still have here, to reach out to others with the good news of eternal salvation, bought for us by the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, to those who hunger and thirst for righteousness in a spiritually dry world.

We can roll our eyes at some of the above “options” listed. But if you stop and really think about it, we are certainly being pushed to accept and act upon some of the “poor” options. May God guide your every thought and action during these last moments of end times. Your eternity and the eternity of those around you may depend on the witness of your heart.
